Counting blessings

It has only been two weeks since my NTU Convocation. But with all the events happening concurrently, it felt as if my graduation had taken place two months ago instead. I was extremely happy and grateful to have these people attending my graduation ceremony. Counting blessings 🙂

Huimin and I brought our Guzheng kids out for a performance at the Woodlands 49th National Day Dinner last evening. We both feel that we are very fortunate to have these kids who are really easy to take care of. For example, they suggested that they can sit on the wooden planks (the floor) to have their dinner when they noticed that the UG cadets had used up all the chairs. :’) How cute.

Last night, a senior teacher told me that “teaching forces one to grow and mature very fast”. I can’t agree enough. This does not just apply to the teaching of our subjects. It also applies to modelling the way for our students to take part in school and class events. I find myself participating in several events which I will never ever get myself involved in if I were not a co-form teacher. One such example? Taking the courage to join the Talent Time Malay Karaoke Sinar Utara 2014 to earn some points for my class. I must admit that it still makes me shiver at the thought of it.

Three more weeks to the end of Term 3. Press on, fellow teachers! And of course, my students too! 😀
